Power Tight Spaces with Blade Compact Vanity Outlets

Optimize narrow vanity drawers with Docking Drawer's 20 amp Blade Compact Vanity Outlet. Engineered for drawers as narrow as 9", it offers built-in power and charging while meeting Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) standards. Enjoy a safe, convenient solution without sacrificing space or functionality.

Innovative Compact Design (Fits Narrow Vanity Drawers)

The Blade Compact Vanity Outlet brings in-drawer power to vanity drawers as narrow as 9", helping reduce countertop clutter while keeping daily tools—like hair dryers, razors, and toothbrushes—ready to use. Select from AC, USB-A, USB-C, or mixed configurations to connect multiple devices simultaneously. Docking Drawer designs purpose-built in-drawer outlets for a cleaner fit, dependable performance, enhanced safety, and long-term usability—ideal for compact bathroom vanities and Canadian home renovations.

Straightforward Installation (Fast, Minimal Tools)

Install the Blade Compact Vanity Outlet quickly using the seven screws included and only a few basic tools. It’s designed for narrow vanity drawers and fits cabinets commonly found in bathrooms, including standard 21" deep vanity cabinets. Minimum requirements:

  • 11" drawer width
  • 4" interior drawer height
  • 2" clearance behind the drawer

Working with an even narrower drawer? It can also be installed into drawers as narrow as 9" using a specialized side channel technique—making it a flexible option for bathroom remodels and space-saving vanity designs.

Superior Safety You Can Trust (Code-Compliant for Canada)

Docking Drawer outlets are designed for safe and reliable in-drawer electrical performance and are ETL Listed for use in Canada. Key safety features include:

  • An interlocking thermostat that shuts off power if temperatures exceed 49°C
  • Cable management arms + strain reliefs to reduce wear at stress points
  • Soft-jacketed cable designed for frequent drawer movement and compatible with soft-close glides

For AC configurations, CEC compliance requires the addition of our Blade Safety Outlet, which automatically cuts power whenever the drawer is closed. (USB-only configurations do not require the Blade Safety Outlet and can remain energized to charge devices inside the drawer.)

Project Planning in Canada

Docking Drawer outlets are ETL Listed for use in Canada. To plan your project, follow the planning details above and consider the following to comply with the CEC*:

  • In-Drawer AC Outlets for Canada: To add AC outlets inside of a compact bathroom vanity, specify a 20 amp Blade Compact Vanity outlet & the Safety Interlock Outlet with Blade Limit Switch (6020-1000W). The Safety Interlock Outlet with Blade Limit Switch de-energizes a Docking Drawer Blade Series outlet when the drawer begins to close.

*The Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) has the final say on whether an installation meets the requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code.

Do I Need a 15 or 20 amp Docking Drawer Blade Series Outlet?

We often get asked this when it comes to choosing the right outlet for your drawer, especially when it comes to bathroom vanity projects where the outlet is used to power hair dryers and curling irons. See the answer here.

How do I ensure my Blade Series outlet is GFCI protected?

If a Blade Series outlet is installed in a location that requires a GFCI by code, there are 4 ways to install the outlet to have GFCI Properties. See the 4 ways here.
