How to Safely Detach a Drawer Box When a Docking Drawer Is Present

Here’s a brief video walkthrough showing how to take out a drawer box while leaving the Docking Drawer installed. We’ve received a few questions about this process, so I’ll walk you through the steps.

First, remove the cover plate by unscrewing the four flat-head screws. Next, take out the four screws securing the receptacle box to the rear of the drawer box. This method works for both Docking Drawer Duo and Single models.

Now, gently slide the Docking Drawer outlet out and guide it through the opening at the back of the drawer. If possible, support the outlet from underneath as you retract it.

With the outlet clear, you can remove the drawer box. To put everything back, simply reverse the steps: slide the Docking Drawer through the cutout, secure it, and reattach the cover plate screws. That’s it!
