Pair our Safety Interlock Outlet with Blade Limit Switch with any Blade Series in-drawer outlet for an additional layer of safety that satisfies the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) for AC outlets within the drawer.

*Only for use with Blade Series in-drawer outlets. For general applications, such as cabinet doors, choose a Safety Interlock Outlet or Disconnect with Corner Mount Limit Switch.

CEC Code Compliant

All Blade Series in-drawer outlets include an auto shutoff to prevent overheating, but combining your AC outlets with our Blade Safety Outlet elevates protection by cutting power whenever the drawer is shut—complying with CEC requirements.
(Note: USB-only charging outlets do not need to power off when the drawer is closed)

Easy Configuration

Installation is straightforward for electricians or experienced DIYers: just replace your under-cabinet wall outlet with the Blade Safety Outlet, then connect the Limit Switch to your in-drawer outlet. The switch senses the drawer’s position and cuts power as it closes.

Added Assurance

Created as the first and only code-approved solution for high voltage outlets within the cabinet in Canada, the Blade Safety Outlet delivers extra protection for spaces like vanities and appliance pullouts, where hot styling tools or small appliances are connected.

How It Operates

Exclusively for use with Docking Drawer Blade Series outlets

Docking Drawer Safety Interlock Outlet with Blade Limit Switch

The Blade Safety Outlet is made up of two main parts: the Safety Interlock Outlet and the Blade Limit Switch. To set up, install the Safety Interlock Outlet into a standard single-gang junction box within four feet of your powered vanity drawer. Next, attach the Blade Limit Switch to your Docking Drawer Blade in-drawer outlet—this switch senses the drawer’s position and will automatically shut off power to your in-drawer outlet and any connected devices when the drawer is closed.

By default, the Blade Limit Switch cuts power to the outlet when the drawer is about one to two inches from being fully open. You can reposition the Blade Limit Switch as needed to have the outlet turn off at the most suitable spot for your specific drawer.

ETL Listed for the US and Canada

All Docking Drawer Blade Series Outlets are listed to UL 962a and CSA 22.2 #21, and the Safety Interlock Outlet with Blade Limit Switch is listed to UL 498 and CSA 22.2 #42. *The Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) has the final say on whether an installation meets the requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code.

“That’s the beauty of your [product]! It activates at the earliest possible moment and kills the power creating the opportunity for either self-extinguishment, or better yet, no fire at all. I teach a monthly fire extinguisher class where I tell the students that “if you can de-energize the equipment, 90% or the majority of time the fire will self-extinguish.”
